Coleman, Seth; Perkins, Nathan. Memoirs of Doctor Seth Coleman, A. M. of Amherst, (Mass.). New-Haven: Printed by Flagg & Gray, 1817 [10554]. This Memoir is taken mainly from Dr. Coleman's diary, and relates his Christian experience & piety. He graduated at Yale College in 1765, and entered medical practice in New Haven in 1767. He was chosen as a Deacon of the First Church in Amherst in 1785.

The shapes are those of Little and Smith, and obviously Wyeth and Doll did not attempt to hide their plagiarism since the German title is the counterpart of Little and Smith. The Easy Instructor...Doll's Book had editions in 1814 and 1821; in 1815 a second volume was issued with a similar title but different in contents." - Wolf, Lutheran Hymnody and Music published in America 1700-1850.

Emory, John. The Episcopal Controversy Reviewed bound with A Defence of "Our Fathers" and of the Original Organization of The Methodist Episcopal Church against the Rev. Alexander M'Caine and others; With Historical and Critical Notices of early American Methodism. T. Mason and G. Lane, for the Methodist Episcopal Church, at the Conference Office, 1838 & 1840. First and Fifth Editions. [7672]. These two books were counters to the movement of the Protestant Methodists, a group that wished to have laymen included in the decision-making process of the Methodist Episcopal Church. They had begun their own separate Conferences in 1828. Emory sought to establish the government of the ME church firmly upon Scriptural grounds, and unimpeachable by detractors.

Then he explains the qualifications, duties and practical aspects of the office of Ruling Elder.
The Novelty of Popery, and the Antiquity of the Religion of Protestants, proved by Scripture and History. Philadelphia: Presbyterian Board of Publication, 1840. [9662]. Provides many historical examples of the belief and practice of Protestants older than the times of Luther, in answer to the charge, "Where is your doctrine before Luther appeared?" The compiler says that the material was gathered out of the Cripplegate Lectures.
