Full calf with panels in blind & gilt, raised hubs to spine making five panels, gilt spine title, "Imitation de J. - C.". All page edges gilt with gilt dentelles bordering the entire edges of the inside board edges, elaborate gilt & silver art nouveau style end papers, ribbon marker bound in. 12 x 6.5 cm (4 3/4 x 2 5/8 inches). Engraved frontispiece of Christ seated at a table with disciples, and Mary Magdalen washing his feet. Contemporary green label pasted over the imprint: "Librairie Catholique...Bauwns Soeurs...Anvers." 431 clean pp., each ruled in red, with red chapter heads and first letters. The book is tight and very attractive. Text in French.
