 Fair/poor condition. Worn and stained cloth, black ink splatter on the binding, 7 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches, rear inside end paper hinge split with the back cover nearly detached. Frontispiece engraving of Wicklife; 240, 284 pages, texts are clean. Two books bound as one. Fair. Hardcover.

Bound with Writings and Examinations of Brute, Thorpe, Cobham, Hilton, Pecock, Bilney, and Others; with The Lantern of Light, written about A. D. 1400.  This second section is the 284 pages mentioned above.

The Wicklife book has samples of his New Testament translation, but is mainly made up of his sermons and doctrinal pieces. These include such topics as transubstantiation, the feigned contemplative life, prayer, antichrist, the papacy, &c.

The second book contains the writings of Wicklife's followers, their testimonies and examinations before execution, declarations of faith, and a long treatise on the nature of the Christian church.
