Thomas Hewlings Stockton (1808-1868), b. Mount Holly, NJ; buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia. Rev. Stockton was a Methodist Episcopal minister, the Chaplain of the US House of Representatives (1833, 1835, 1859, 1861), sometime pastor of the First Methodist Church in Philadelphia, and editor of The Christian World. At the consecration of the National Cemetery at Gettysburg, in which President Lincoln gave his famous Address, Stockton gave the opening prayer.
