Charles Taze Russell (1852-1916), b. Allegheny, Pennsylvania; d. Pampa, Texas. He was raised in the Presbyterian church, transferred to first a Congregational, and then an Adventist one. In 1881 he co-founded Zion's Watch Tower Tract Society, and moved the Society to Brooklyn, NY, in 1908. A prolific author of Bible studies and doctrines, he is considered to be the key founder of what later became known as the Jehovah's Witness religious movement.
