John Thompson Nixon (1820-1889), a graduate of the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University), Nixon operated a law practice and served in the New Jersey General Assembly. He was a Republican US Congressman (1859-1863) and United States District Court Judge (NJ), (1870-1889).
