Three bound volumes of separate annual issues. The volumes are in half red sheep with black cloth boards, a bit scuffed but with no damage. They measure 8 x 5 3/4 inches, and the set takes up 5 inches of shelf space. Vol. I. with a removed bookplate; Vols. II. & III. have bookplates of the Narragansett Lodge No. 36, Knights of Pythias. Good. Hardcover.

This set covers the years 1872 to 1888 and were issued by various printers in Portland, Maine, and sometime bound together in these volumes. They include a vast amount of information regarding the government and accomplishments of this fraternal organization in the State of Maine, beginning with the First Annual Session in 1872 (here first printed in 1875).

The last volume has an index for the series, Analytical Digest and Index...&c. Includes the Constitution adopted in Maine, memorials of deceased members, statistics of contributions, and news or reports from Lodges around the country.

The Knights of Pythias is a fraternal organization formed in Washington, DC, in 1864, by Justus H. Rathbone. It takes the values of the Greek legend of Damon and Pythias - loyalty, honor, and friendship - as the basis for a charitable fraternal organization.
