Half black leather with marbled boards, 5 panels to spine with title and date in gilt, 6 x 9 1/4 inches, tight, some sections with dark foxing. Two parts here bound as one book. Frontis, extra engraved title page, printed title page, then [9]-208, (i.)-ii. index; 5-200, iii.-iv. index. The engravings interspersed total 12 plates + 1 engraved title page. The odd pagination matches the AAS copy with the exception of the index being inserted not in whole at the front of the volume but in two parts, at the end of each part.

"Some illustrations signed by Bonnington [i.e. R.P. Bonington], Bartlett, T. Wrankmore and D. Roberts; engravings signed by W.H. Dougal, Delaney, A.L. Dick, C.T. Giles, and A.B. Cross. Hatch was the editor and publisher. This is a collection of essays and poetry, mainly on Christian themes.
