Harvey William Everest (1831-1900), b. North Hudson, NY; d. Des Moines, Iowa. A graduate of Oberlin College, he was an ordained minister for the Disciples of Christ, served as president of Eureka College, and of Butler University. While at Butler he served as professor of biblical literature and moral science. In 1884 he published The Divine Demonstration: A Textbook of Christian Evidence, which was adopted by Disciples of Christ Bible schools. He also served as Dean of the Bible College of Drake University.
