York County was formed in 1749 as the portion of Lancaster County west of the Susquehanna. A large influx of Scots-Irish immigrants settled the area about that time, bringing their Presbyterian faith and convictions with them. The exact date of the beginning of the Centre Church is unknown, but possibly from just before the Revolutionary War.
A history of the church with biographies of their pastors.
