Blue cloth with boards decorated in blind, elaborate gilt to spine, edge-worn yet with good joints, frayed at the spine ends, 6 x 4 inches. Chromolithograph extra title page, signed "Blood & Evans, Lith., Boston." 192 generally clean pp., foxing to the first several leaves. Good. Hardcover.

Blood & Evans were lithographic printers in Boston, 1857-1858. "The partners were John H. Blood and Charles A. Evans." The firm was renamed Blood, Evans & Co. by the end of 1858. - Groce & Wallace, p. 56. 

Cary Sternick's 19th Century Juvenile Series online reference states that the Parlor Library series was published in 1859. "They are so-called spurious Parley volumes written to take advantage of the Parley name."
