The author was President of Silliman University and later of Trinity College of Quezon City, serving in these capacities from 1939 to 1967. His knowledge of education in the Philippines was based upon personal experience, and he presents this history of education in that country as it existed in the 1960's & 70's. It is very thorough and documented.
