Ottavio Zanotti Bianco (1852 - 1932); b. & d. in Turin, Italy. In 1874 he earned a degree in engineering and desired to devote his career to astronomy, but was forced to give it up due to weak eyesight. His devotion to astronomy was expressed through writing a number of valuable books on the subject. His professional career was fulfilled in geodesy, of which lectured upon and was for some years assistant professor of geometry in the University of Turin.
