Daniel Franklin Hodges (1835-1908), b. Belfast, Maine; d. Phillips, Maine. He was a hymn-writer and author of music books. 

George West Foster (1833-1889), b. Sullivan, New Hampshire; d. Keene, New Hampshire. He trained at the Cheshire County Teachers' Institute, worked as a clerk in Boston, and then taught music in Brooklyn, New York. He later settled in Keene, opening a music store and teaching music. He was a general agent for Wilcox & White's parlor organs. Foster wrote and published hymns and part songs.
