Jane Taylor (1783-1824), b. London, England; d. Ongar, Essex, England. She was born to a literary family, her parents and her sister Ann all contributed to the press of the day. In addition to her children's books, essay, plays, poems, and novels, Jane was the editor of the the religious Youth's Magazine. Many of her works were collected and published by her brother in five volumes in 1832.
