Rev. Joseph Harvey (1787-1873). b. East Haddam, Connecticut; d. Harvey, Michgan. In 1810 he was ordained pastor of the church in Goshen, Connecticut.
"While pastor of the Church at Goshen, in that state [Connecticut], he became deeply interested in the conversion of the Sandwich Islanders, and through his influence the first to missionaries to thos islands, Messrs. Bingham and Thurston, were selected and ordained at Goshen, September 28, 1819.
