Smith, John. A Sermon delivered September 25, 1827, at the Ordination of the Rev. Nathaniel Wales, as Pastor of the First Church in Belfast, Maine. Belfast, [Maine]: Printed by Ephraim Fellowes, 1828. [12142]

Removed, no wrapper, 8 1/2 x 5 inches, 32 pages. Good. Pamphlet.

The text is Ezekiel 21:27, "I will overturn, overturn, overturn it, and it shall be no more, until He come whose right it is, and I will give it Him." The main points are i. That Christ has a peculiar right to universal dominion; 2. That God will give him his right; and, 3. By what means God will give Christ his right. The author says that God will overthrow every kingdom, and every religion, opposed to Christ. He impresses these truths upon the one being ordained as encouragements to faithful Christian preaching and ministry.
