The text is I Kings 22:14, "As the Lord liveth, what the Lord saith unto me, that will I speak."
The three main points are, 1. The resolution proper for the ambassadors of Christ on entering the service of their divine Master; 2. The manner, in which this resolution should be carried into effect; and, 3. The benefits and advantages, that may be hoped to result from a faithful performance of it.
Rev. James Kendall (1769-1859), graduate of Harvard College (1796), pastor of First Church, Plymouth (1800-1859). A man of liberal Unitarian views, his ordination split the congregation. He was a faithful pastor to his congregation for nearly 60 years.
