Proceedings of the General Association of Connecticut, June, 1812. Hartford: Printed by Peter B. Gleason & Co., 1812. First Edition. [12249]

Removed, newly sewn into an acid-free wrapper, 8 1/4 x 5 inches, 36 pp., a few pencil marks in the margins. Good. Pamphlet.

The General Association of Connecticut was the ruling body of the Congregational Churches of the state. Attendees included Timothy Dwight, Lyman Beecher, Bennet Tyler, Rufus Anderson, Ethan Smith, and many others.

This record includes reports from the Missionary Society of Connecticut, a committee investigating troubles between the Rev. Abiel Abbot and the church at Coventry (this takes up many pages), a report from the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions, one on the "excessive and intemperate use of ardent spirits", and a list of ministers not settled in the state.
