Ebenezer Porter, D.D. (1772-1834), b. Cornwall, Conn.; d. Andover, Mass. A graduate of Dartmouth College (1792), Porter was a Congregational minister at Washington, Connecticut;, in 1812 he was appointed professor of sacred rhetoric at Andover Theological Seminary, Massachusetts and in 1827 its president, retaining the positions until his death.
