Magie, David. Our True Encouragement: A Sermon, preached at Buffalo, New York, September 8, 1847, before the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions, at their Thirty-eighth Annual Meeting. Boston: Press of T. R. Marvin, 1847. First Edition. [11115]

Removed, no wrappers, 8 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches, 28 clean pp/ Good. Pamphlet.

The text is Isaiah 32:15, "Until the Spirit be poured upon us from on high."

The author states that all Christian agree that the success of world-wide missionary activity cannot be in doubt, and then appeals for reliance upon the Holy Spirit for that success.

"Without special divine aid we can do nothing. God must plentifully imbue our hears with the influences of the Spirit, that we might use the right means for effecting our object, that we may prosecute the work with proper energy, and that we may see our efforts attend with success. These are the points which I wish to illustrate and enforce."
