Black cloth decorated in blind & gilt, edge-worn with some loss of cloth at the joints & corners, 6 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches. 176 clean pages, lacks the final end paper (blank), just a bit shaken. Good. Hardcover.

The music is in four parts with round notes.

John William Dadmun (1819-1890), b. Cambridge, Massachusetts; d. Boston, Massachusetts. A minister with the New England Methodist Conference, Dadmun was the pastor of several New England Methodist churches during his ministry, including Grace Church, Boston, and First Church, Boston Highlands. A Mason, he served as Grand Chaplain and District Deputy Grand Master, based at the Mt. Lebanon Lodge in Boston. He rose through the ranks of Masonry to the point of being the Grand Prelate of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

He wrote and edited many song books for use in both the church and in Masonry, including the popular "Revival Melodies."
