Denis Mary Bradley (1846-1903), b. Co. Kerry, Ireland; d. Manchester, New Hampshire. His father died in 1854, and soon after his mother with her children emigrated to the United States. He was educated at Holy Cross College, Worcester, Massachusetts, Georgetown College in Washington, D.C., and at St. Joseph's Seminary in Troy, New York. Ordained in 1871, he served parishes in Portland, Maine, and in Manchester, New Hampshire. In 1884 he was made Bishop of the new Diocese of Manchester.
