Original blind stamped black cloth, gilt title to front and spine, binding with some edge-wear, library stamps & bookplate on the end papers, white label at base of spine, 11 3/4 x 8 3/4 inches. The book consists of one leaf of text (title page and table of contents) and a large number of folding charts. Title page torn at top and foxed. 43 (of 45) folding maps/charts, most in very good condition. Good. Hardcover.

The two missing items are no. 7, Map of Public Surveys in California, and no. 8, Sketch of the Public Surveys in Kansas and Nebraska.

Includes surveys of land plots in Michigan, Arkansas, Florida, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa; a few smaller charts or maps of public buildings and the plans or sketches of many harbors, including Oswego, Sodus Bay, Buffalo, Erie, Conneut, Ashtabula, Cleveland, Black River, Huron, Monroe, Manitowoc, Dubuque, Kenosha, Racine, River St. Clair, &c.
