Archibald Alexander (1772-1851), American Presbyterian scholar, president of Princeton. “Although not an itinerant, few men in his day were more intimately acquainted with the work of revival than Archibald Alexander. He himself was converted in a revival and many of the early days of his ministry were spent in revival scenes. The missionary and revival spirit which long characterized the seminary [at Princeton] were due in no small part to the powerful influence of this godly man.” - Roberts, Revival Literature: An Annotated Bibliography, p. 8.
