These two volumes cover the years 1789 to 1827, and includes all of the documents pertaining to Indian tribes in connection with the government of the United States. They begin with the treaty with the Six Nations, Wyandots, and others, of 1789, presented to the Congress by President George Washington. The last Treaty is with the Creeks in 1825.

They include all documents accompanying Indian Treaties; Indian massacres and depredations; Indian wars; and Efforts made for their benefit in civilization, agriculture, and the mechanical arts.

These books are necessary for anyone studying the history of this period. They are full of primary information and accounts unavailable elsewhere.

Included are reports of battles, defeats, letters, journals, reports of trade, &c. The time period covers all of the wars with the Indians in the original states, the Ohio Northwest, in Kentucky, in the Southern States, and along the frontiers, with the Cherokees, Chickasaws, Creeks, the Six Nations, &c.
