A petition for the Federal Government to cede to the State of Tennessee all lands not granted to the original settlers or to soldiers and officers who had been granted military warrants.
The claim is that all of the valuable lands capable of cultivation now have owners, and that all "vacant refuse lands" ought to be ceded to Tennessee, and removed from the control of the Federal government.
The report discusses lands set aside for common schools, treaty lines, the 1818 treaty between the United States and the Chickasaw nation, the improvements made upon lands in the State, &c.
