Full vellum binding, yapped edges, soiled, remnants of paper spine label, lacks the tie closures. 13.3 x 8 cm, (5 1/4 x 3 inches). viii, 459, v; 123, [1]; [22] pp.  Text is collated and complete; leaves are toned; several mistakes in page numbers of the first book but the text itself is complete and in the right order. Bordered in black with a column to the side for printed Scripture and other references. Separate title page for the Index Librorvm Prohibitorvm, Coloniae, Bernardi Gualtheri, 1621. This has v. preliminary pages and 123 pages of text, a final blank page.  The text of the Index has some light foxing & stains. Emblem of the Society of Jesus on both title pages. The last 22 unnumbered pages are Ordo Sev Methodvs brevis et facilis Legendi decreta Reformationis, Concilii Tridentini.  Very good. Hardcover.

The Decrees of the Council of Trent (1545-1563), with statements of support by Popes Paul III., Julian III., and Pius IV., each of whom oversaw some portion of the Council.
