John Morrison Reid (1820- b. New York City; He graduated at the University of the City of New York (1839), and was principal of the Mechanics' Institute School from then until 1844, when he graduated also from Union Theological Seminary. He was admitted to the New York Methodist Episcopal Conference in that year, and during his career was pastor of several Methodist congregations. He was president of Genesee College (1858-1864), and corresponding secretary of the Missionary Society of the Methodist church (1864-1872). The author of many articles and books, he was editor of several Methodist magazines, including the Western Christian Advocate and the Northwestern Christian Advocate. (11866) $65.00
