Printed wrapper with series, title, & woodcut of a horse to front; publisher's adverts on back. 3 3/4 x 2 3/8 inches, single stab stitch, 16 pages. Nine wood engravings, two of which are full-page. Light stain on two leaves. Good.

Cover title adds: Second Series. - No. 5.

This is one of the Redfield's Toy Books series, no. 5. The advert on this chapbook advertises them as "Four Series of Twelve Books each, Beautifully Illustrated."

Pp. 15-16 are the poem "The little colt. Spoken by a little boy."

Printed sometime before 1856 at which date Kiggins & Kellogg are at 123 & 125 Williams Street.
