"I. If these meetings should not be blessed, the fairest opportunities and the most promising means for the conversion of sinners will be lost, and sinners be made more callous to the truth, and more hardened in rejecting Jesus. Therefore, I am resolved, that I will constantly cherish the solemn truth, that without the Holy Spirit we cannot hope for a blessing upon these meetings..."
