He conducted three explorations in Labrador, and wrote twenty-six books between 1905 and 1936, when he retired. He was three times reported missing and dead over the years of his explorations, traveling in areas as diverse from each other as Labrador and Mexico. His first books on Labrador were best-sellers, launching his writing career. He made frequent contributions to the \u003cem\u003eOuting Magazine\u003c\/em\u003e, of which he was a staff member, and for the \u003cem\u003eNational Sportsman\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003eAmerican Boy\u003c\/em\u003e, and others. Wallace was also active in Boy Scout work. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe publisher, Fleming H.
