Craig Houston Patterson (1897-1990), b. Sutsien, China; d. Rockingham, Virginia. Rev. Patteson was born to American missionaries with the Presbyterian Church, South. He and his wife and child escaped China in 1927, but returned in 1929 and began a fruitful ministry until 1936, the main part of the memoir recalling that period; they returned to the United States permanently in 1941. He was then pastor of the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Bluefield, West Virginia, from 1946 to 1972.
