He believes that Genesis is allegory, apart from the first sentence of the book. He discusses the history of Christianity, and has charts of dates and estimations of events, and attempts to reconcile them with Bible history in some way.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is a chart of 17 \"months\" of church history, with 1-10 being \"Greek and Catholic repulsion\" with corresponding oppositional movements: Macedonians and Apollinarians, Plegians [sic] and Semi-Plegians [sic], Mohammedans, Greek Church, Waldensians, Scientists, Civil Powers, Wickliffites, Moravians; then Era of Protestantism, Anti-Trinitarians, Dissenters, Arminians, Pietists, Republicans, and Abolitionists [!], who began the year 1861. If, then, revelation is the object of the typical sea, and that sea has a capacity of three thousand baths in distinct measures, what is the spiritual cleansing and baptism belonging to these dispensations? Let us suggest that there are a thousand questions belonging to the religious subject, and that first they are taken up with the dispensation of the Jews, with the leadership of God the Father; secondly, that they are again agitated by Christianity with the prominent feature of the Son; and, finally, that now there must be a renewal of those subjects by the authority of the Almighty, which shall enlist the innumerable host of the spiritual heaven and the literal earth. Sproul was a wealthy silver baron who with his partners in 1870 gained control of the Eberhardt and North Aurora silver claims in White Pine County, Nevada. After making his fortune by selling the properties to British investors, Sproul turned to purchasing and selling land in the San Francisco Bay area.
