Full calf, 4 1/4 x 7 inches, red leather spine title label, rounded corners, 2 inch crack at top of front outer hinge - board still well-attached. Printed bookplate of Daniel J. Shaw, contemporary with book. Lacks the front free end papers and half-title; begins at title page. xi., [3], 269, [1], 2 pp. - these last two are a publisher's catalogue. Text with foxing & smudges, all tight, one leaf torn with loss at bottom corner, affecting a few letters. Good.

ESTC T129148. First published in 1782, there were two imprints that year, one in 1783 (all 3 by Cadell in London), and then this Dublin edition of 1784.

Following the Introduction there are five Sacred Dramas - Moses, David and Goliath, Belshazzar, Daniel, and Hezekiah - and then "Sensibility: A Poetical Epistle to the Hon. Mrs. Boscawen."

Hannah More (1745-1833), English literary socialite who became an evangelical convert, devoting her life to piety and benevolent efforts. Her spiritual writings were met with wide approval, acclaim, and usefulness.
