Carl McIntire, b. 1906, American Presbyterian minister, suspended & deposed by the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. for fundamentalism & for setting up an opposing Missions Board. He founded Faith Theological Seminary and Shelton College; founded American Council of Christian Churches to oppose National Council of Churches and the International Council of Christian Churches to oppose World Council of Churches.

McIntire separated from those who left the PCUSA with him (i.e. Gresham Machen) over total abstinence from alcohol & the teaching of premillennialism. He founded the Bible Presbyterian Church, while the other group formed the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
