The author was professor of history at Boston University (1920-1933), a colonel in the US Army, and a chaplain beginning July 5th, 1918.
The book is a history of US Army chaplains from 1776 and the American Revolution to the Korean War. Accounts of many individual chaplains are herein recorded and there is an excellent bibliography included.
