Charles Edwin Furman (1801-1880), a native of Hyde Park, NY; died in Rochester, NY. He graduated from Union College, Auburn Theological Seminary, and was awarded a D.D. from Hamilton College. He was a Presbyterian minister, and his marriage was officiated by the famous Rev. Charles Finney in 1831, at Rochester. He wrote "Home Scenes," and "Valley of the Genesee."
A collection of poetry about home life and Christian life, with poems about growing old with his wife, sisters, the dog "Charlie," reminiscences of his grandfather John Gazlay, children in heaven, and many on Bible themes.
