Florance and Eddie; or Perseverance Rewarded. Philadelphia: American Sunday-School Union, 1853. [6302]

Poor condition, text block shaken and detached, frontispiece detached. 4 x 6 inches, cloth, 35 pp. 1875 Sunday School bookplate, public library stamp beneath it. Poor. Hardcover.

The story of a young brother and sister who desire to attend Sunday School, but whose mother sleeps late every Sunday morning. They meet an older child who seeks for children to lead them to Christ and to the Sunday School, who insists that they first ask the permission of their mother. The mother allows it, and it is said that this eventually leads to her own salvation.

A slightly later reprint. The imprint has the ASSU at 316 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, and lists New York, Boston, and Louisville as other locations. The American Sunday-School Union was at this Philadelphia address from 1854 to 1857, and at this New York address from 1846 to 1856. This title is not in The Library Company of Philadelphia's ASSU collection.
