John Dick Fleming (1863-1938), b. Whithorn, Wigtownshire, Scotland; d. Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. At the time this book was written he was the Professor of Systematic Theology in Manitoba University.

This book presents an historical review of the different ways that Redemption has been taught throughout the history of the Christian church (pp. 15-240), and then treats with the professor's own grasp of the concept, (pp. 241-308).
