Nathan Fessenden, b. 1825 at Owego, New York, to a family of "Old School Baptists." Fessenden becomes a Wesleyan minister, and this is his account of his faith and ministry. The memoir mentions Little Meadows, Pa.; Candor, NY; Princess Hollow; Nickol’s Hill; Newfield, Barton, Winecup, and Vestal, N. Y.; other areas around Bradford Co., Pa. and Broome & Tioga Cos., NY. Focuses on religious topics, incidents, meetings, different denominations in these areas, etc. Often reads like a diary. Full of first-hand accounts of life in the “southern tier” of New York during these years.
The Appendix is a sermon on 2 Timothy 4: 6-8.
