Bookplate of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania dated by hand 1864, and inscribed to J. Hill Martin, of Philadelphia. Fair. Hardcover.

John Hill Martin (1823-1906) was a prominent author, genealogist, lawyer, and publisher.

A reprinting of the first volume produced by the Society, with an account of the Society itself followed by 15 historical papers.
