The first minister of this congregation was John Eliot, Jr., the son of the famous Apostle to the Indians. Newton was first known as Cambridge Village, a part of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Fifty-seven out of a total male membership of seventy-eight at the time fought as patriots in the American Revolution. Includes several historical addresses.
