Lyman Whiting (1817-1906), b. North Brookfield, Massachusetts,  Whiting graduated at Andover Theological Seminary in 1842, became assistant pastor of the orthodox Lawrence Street Congregational Church (1847), and was pastor of several other churches in New England and New York during his ministry.
