Long Island, NY; d. \"Hallock was converted during a revival in 1779. His preparation for the ministry was under private teachers including Timothy Dwight. Though strongly desirous of devoting his life to itinerant ministry, Hallock accepted the call to the pastorate of the Congregational Church at West Simsbury, Connecticut. This church experienced revival under his preaching in 1798 \u0026amp; 1799, 1805, 1812 \u0026amp; 1813. While this record may sound unusual in the light of today's spiritual poverty, it was not uncommon for pastors of that period to see reoccurring awakenings in their churches. It might also be noted that the extended pastorates, common in those days also, increased the prospects of such seasons of refreshing.\" - Roberts, no. 2550.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAmmi Ruhaman Robbins (1740-1813), b. Branford, Connecticut; d. Norfolk, Connecticut. Rev. Robbins graduated at Yale College (1760), studied theology under Dr. Bellamy, and was ordained at Norfolk in 1761. He enlisted as a chaplain during the American Revolution, and as a member of General Schuyler's Brigade, participated in the ill-fated invasion of Canada, returning in poor health. His journal kept during the northern campaign of 1776 was published in New Haven in 1850.
