Daniel Sickels (1815-1902), b. New York City; d. Brooklyn, NY. Sickles was a 33º Scottish Rite Mason who served as the Senior Grand Warden of the Grand Lodge of New York. He is sometime confused with the Civil War general and politician of the same name, who lived about the same time. He was an important figure in the Masonic world of New York City, being a peacemaker between several factions.
