A description of George Whitefield and his ministry in New England reveals that the closest that evangelist was to Colchester was the village of Middletown, about 16 miles distant. Rev. Little, in keeping with the majority of the Congregational ministers of Connecticut, appears to have been opposed to the new methods of the \"New Lights,\"; there is some material on his opposing a New Light minister from preaching in his parish.
