Roger Ward Babson (1875-1967), American inventor, entrepreneur, economist and business theorist; founder of Babson College (Wellesley, Mass.) and Webber College (now University) at Babson Park, Florida. He was the Prohibitionist Party's candidate for President of the United States in 1940. Babson was converted at age fifteen and all his life his faith in God was one of his primary personal beliefs. He served as national church moderator for the General Council on the Congregational-Christian Churches from 1936 to 1938.
