Sidney Lewis Gulick (1860-1945), b. Ebon, Marshall Islands; d. Boise, Idaho. He was a Congregational missionary , educated at Dartmouth College, for twenty-five years a missionary in Japan under the auspices of the A. B. C. F. M. Gulick was Professor of Theology in Doshisha University (1906-1913), Lecturer in the Imperial University of Kyoto (1907-1913), Secretary of the department of international justice and good-will of the Federal Council of Churches of Christ in America (1914-1934), and served on other prominent church boards and organizations promoting international cooperation. He was the author of Growth of the Kingdom of God; Evolution of the Japanese; The White Peril in the Far East; The American Japanese Problem; The Fight for Peace.
