A sermon on Lamentations iv., 1 & 2, noting the misery of the Jews in Palestine and the prospects of their conversion to Christianity. Rev. Dealtry says that the main obstacles which must be overcome are the Jews' prejudices and their worldly interests.

William Dealtry (1775-1847), an evangelical Anglican, sometime Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, a supporter of the British and Foreign Bible Society. In 1811 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society; he was a professor of mathematics and published, besides many sermons, a textbook, The Principles of Fluxions.
